Overview

NV5 Geospatial is currently seeking a Senior Geospatial Technician in our GEOINT Solutions Practice. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your career in the geospatial industry supporting a variety of projects. The Senior Geospatial Technician will work as part of a team to create and update highly attributed feature data within a geodatabase from imagery and ancillary sources to provide intelligent datasets that can be used for mission planning and support. Tasks may include 3D environment assignments creating and editing digital elevation models to client specifications. The ideal candidate must be analytical, self-motivated with exceptional planning and critical thinking skills, and collaborative in a team environment as well as able to work independently.

Work Environment:

    Location is flexible: NV5 Geospatial Headquarters, Regional offices, or work from home considered
  • Travel up to 15% of the time

Responsibilities
  • Photointerpretation of geographic features from aerial and satellite imagery
  • Create and update highly attributed feature data
  • Review of maps and other ancillary sources to enhance data value
  • Attribution and update of metadata
  • Edit terrain to within project specification standards as trained
  • Performs quality assurance methods to ensure a high degree of data consistency, integrity, and accuracy and provide feedback in the form of constructive criticism to peers
  • Trains team members on workflow methodologies
  • Coordination and collaboration with the project team members on the progress of production
  • Completion of all project forms, spreadsheets, and checklists
  • Identifies and develops process improvements/efficiencies
  • Attend training and/or meetings relating to job requirements
  • Assists in problem solving/troubleshooting
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 1+ years' experience working in a professional environment with digital geospatial software: ESRI ArcGIS, DAT/EM Summit Evolution, Socet Set, Socet GXP, Microstation, AutoCAD or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed budget and quality expectations at the technician level
  • Intermediate knowledge of mapping and cartography
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • U.S. citizenship required to comply with government contract

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to requirements):

  • Professional certification
  • 2+ years' experience in a technical, professional work environment
  • Experience working with NGA/DoD/AGC products
  • Possess a Secret level DoD security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering program, or equivalent experience
